I knew it all along, but it didn't change the absolute possession I felt when it came to her... nothing would change how I felt about her.

So I did what I had to; I waited until the time was right to make her mine, only to find out there is one thing that could ruin it all.

Chapter 4

Paisley

“Why did you leave?” It takes a mighty amount of strength for me not to slap my hand over my big mouth. But it’s been killing me for what feels like ever, and I want to know why.

“I told you already, but I also told you I’d explain. You ready for that?”

“Yeah. I am.”

He doesn’t take his eyes off the TV. “You were sixteen. Almost seventeen.”

“Okay.”

“I didn’t want to go to jail because I can promise you that as soon as Erik found out, he would have had me arrested.”

This isn’t helpful. “You’re so confusing.”

“I wanted to f*ck you, Paisley.” He takes a breath as mine is stuck in my throat. “I couldn’t be around you and not be able to touch you the way I wanted or hold you like I did last night. I’m very patient, but my limits were being tested.”

I feel a tingle between my thighs, and a whoosh of air leaves my lungs. “What?”

He finally looks at me. “Wanted you then, want you now, but I’m waiting for you to be ready.”

“You what?” Why can’t I comprehend what he’s saying? I don’t get it. “Ready for what?”

“More.”
